Active Cultures expresses its congratulation, appreciation and fondest gratitude to recent award honorees (from left to right) James Hesla, Mary Watters and Ian Armstrong.
In September Active Cultures Theatre presented its first annual Awards Reception
at the Brentwood Arts Exchange Gallery in Brentwood, Maryland. During the event,
Artistic Director Mary Resing and Board President Carl Sumter honored James, Mary
and Ian for their outstanding contributions to the company during its first five seasons.
The intimate evening included a silent auction and a performance of Jean Hoppen’s Capsmittment,
winner of this past season’s Sportaculture IV.
Spring 2013 Internships
Active Cultures is currently looking for interns for the Spring of 2013.
Interested college undergrads should send a cover letter, resume and writing sample to email@example.com
"As intern you will work closely with Active Cultures' staff on both artistic and business developments, from script evaluations to grant proposals. Artistic Director Mary Resing guides students through their season-long internship, allowing and encouraging their individual voices and ideas to be heard. Interning at Active Cultures is an intimate look into the ups and downs of running a non-profit theatre. Interns will leave with a better understanding of the commitment and handwork that is essential to all aspects of a successful theatre."
- Olivia Gunn, Summer 2011 Intern
